If your using circle hooks. You will loose more fish than catch when you try a big hook set like that which was shown at the beginning of this video. All you have to do is pick the pole up and start reeling with the pole pointed upward. You rip the hook out of their mouth when you do a big sweeping hook set like that.

Damn, I tell you these reels nowadays are so tightly made, I mean the gears are tight & you can hear them screaming as you reel in against the drag. That high pitched noise those gears are making is unique, compared to reels from yesteryear. But I never had a fish anything like that..... WoW is about all anyone can say? peace

Whats weird is up north I see longnose/spotted gar all the time but getting them to bite is another thing completely as they never show any interest towards any lures I throw. So is cut bait the only real way to catch them?

that interesting noise sounded like a dry bearing in the reel rather and drag plates slipping, no gonna lie though kast king has became my favorite reels the past 5 years. I got the sharky 3 in 2021 and it is still like new with only one rebuild for cleaning and re-greasing

When I was a kid, the late 60s, in fla., my dad and I would fish off the coast. But we waded in up to our waists. My dad had a string of red fish on his belt. It was floating out behind him in the water. He had maybe 4 or 5 or the stringer. He felt the stringer jerk. Just thought it was the fish. It jerked again, harder. He turned around a looked. It was a 5 ft shark, eating it's way up the stringer! That day, my dad and Jesus Christ were the only 2 to walk on water! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
